The Angarathos monastery is dedicated to the Mother of Christ and is situated on a rather rocky rise between the villages Sgourokefali and Sambas at a distance of 23 km from Heraklion.

The Arkadi Monastery situated on the island of Crete doesn’t solely belong to this island; it belongs to Greece, Europe and to all five continents – to the whole world.

The church of Agios Titos in Heraklion Town, Crete:

The Cathedral of Agios Titos in Heraklion Town is among the most important monuments in Crete.

It is found on August 25th street, one of the busiest streets of the town.

Epanosifis Monastery is situated at an altitude of 480m. It is located  32 km east from Heraklion and is considered to be one of the richest and largest monasteries of Crete.

It was developed during the ottoman rule and it is dedicated to St George.

The actual Monastery complex was built from 1537 till 1548. According to tradition, it was connected with miraculous St John the Hermit, and was used for the housing of the Saint’ s pilgrims.

Agia Triada Monastery or the Monastery of Agia Triada Tsangarolon is a Greek Orthodox monastery in the Akrotiri peninsula in the Chania regional unit, Crete, Greece. It also contains a museum.

The seaside Monastery of Panagia Odigitria is located  about 26km west of Chania and 2.5km north of Kolimbari.

The monastery is also known as Lady of the Angels Monastery of Gonia (Gonia = Corner) due to its location on the western edge-corner of the bay of Chania.

It operates as a nunnery and reminds of a fortress, perched on a 35m high rock with boundless sea views.

This monastery (Agios Ioannis Theologos in Greek) lies in a verdant setting Southeast of the village of Anópoli. It used to be part of the Saint George (Agios Giorgios) monastery, which is located to the North, which was abandoned following the frequent pirate raids in the 15th and 16th centuries and all the monks moved to the monastery of Saint John.

The foundations of the imposing cathedral of Saint Minas, one of the largest in Greece, were laid on 25 March 1862 as a token of gratitude by the citizens for the saint’s protection of the city.

The site is said to have been indicated by a monk to whom St Minas appeared in a vision.
